ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced to end Blackberry Messenger Services.
As per details received, Government of Pakistan has directed to PTA to end Blackberry Business Enterprise Services. These services include Blackberry Messenger (BBM) and Email services. PTA has also sent a notice to a Blackberry company in this connection.
Government Official sources told that, this is for the first time in Pakistan, that any Mobile Services has been suspended officially. The service will be completely closed by November 30, 2015. Sources told that the decision has been taken due to the security concerns, because Pakistan’s system is unable to decode Blackberry’s communication system. Due to which terrorist organizations are using it for their activities. In order to maintain law and order situation, Government of Pakistan has decided to end Blackberry Business Enterprise Services within Pakistan.
It has been cleared by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), that they have only suspended BBM and Email services on Blackberry, while users will be able to continue with Internet Services on their Blackberry.
