LARKANA, April 22: A condolence reference held here on Sunday in memory of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) chairman Basheer Khan Qureshi by the Sindh National Movement (SNM) called upon international organisations to take notice of ‘the conspiracy to eliminate the JSQM chairman’.SNM president Ali Hassan Chandio presided over the meeting which was addressed by Dr Safdar Sarki, chairman of the Jeay Sindh Tahreek and Athar Soomro.Speaking on the life and struggle of Basheer Qureshi, they said he was a bold, brave and committed leader who was eliminated because of his struggle against Punjab’s supremacy and usurpation of Sindh’s rights.

The rulers and the state, they said, had always been against leaders fighting for the rights of Sindh.

They criticised the heavy influx of outsiders from different parts of the world and said Sindhis were being converted into a minority. They called for speeding up national movement in a scientific way.The meting adopted five resolutions and unanimously called for an examination of the viscera of Basheer Khan Qureshi by a reputable foreign laboratory.Another resolution expressed concern over infiltration of aliens – particularly Bengalis, Burmese and Afghans — in Sindh and condemned the move to give them citizenship. It called for expelling all illegal settlers from Sindh.The meeting called upon on the government to recognise Sindh’s right on its natural resources. It held intelligence agencies and anti-Sindh elements responsible for a conspiracy of fanning tribal clashes in Sindh.All nationalists’ political parties should wage a joint struggle to end tribal clashes plaguing the upper Sindh, it said.
