Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani: The Active Politician of Sindh, Pakistan

Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani is a notable Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, since the year of 2002.

Early life of Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani

He was born on the day of 5 March 1967.

Political career

He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Constituency NA-208 (Jacobabad-I) in Pakistani general election, 2002. He gained 40,147 votes and defeated Elahi Bux Soomro.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PPP from Constituency NA-208 (Jacobabad) in Pakistani general election, 2008. He received 52,813 votes and defeated Fahad Malik, a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) (PML-Q).

In the year of November 2008, he was inducted into the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and was appointed as Federal Minister for Health where he served until December 2009. In December 2009, he was made Federal Minister for Sports where he continued to serve until February 2011.

He was re-elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PPP from Constituency NA-208 (Jacobabad) in Pakistani general election, 2013. He acquired 51,025 votes and defeated Elahi Bux Soomro.
