Amb Jogi: The Talented Dhol Drum Player of Sindh

Amb Jogi is a renowned dholak or dhol drum player. Amb Khan, son of Beku Khan Jogi, was born in the year of 1974 at Tando Allahyar Sindh province. His grandfather Kaanji Jogi was also a popular tabla player. He was fascinated in playing the dholak since childhood, so he used to give Dalda ghee box to play. He learned early from his cousin, singer Ustad Sodho Khan Jogi; then he earned thread of studentship (devotee) from Baradi Faqir. He then spent 7 years learning classical tabla training from Ustad Nazir Khan.

Ustad Ameer Ali introduced Anb Jogi on Radio Pakistan and Shah Abdul Latif conference in the year of 1988; concurrently he performed on Pakistan Television (PTV).
