ISLAMABAD: National Database Registration Authority (NADRA), has introduced a new facility for the citizens of Pakistan with “Pak Identity” name. Through this facility now citizens will be able to create the National Identity Card (NIC) online.
Through this service one will be able to create the request to create a National ID Card (NIC), which will be delivered at the doorstep. After initiating such service by NADRA, people will be able to save themselves from standing long queues at NADRA offices. As per TV report, there are three phases to initiate an online request for creating of NIC.
- Choose whether you need to renew or modify your NIC.
- Know supporting Documents and prepare them. Capture your photograph.
- Create an account of NADRA Website and Apply
An over-whelming point is that, one do not have a need to wait by sitting at home. If you are within Pakistan, you can always check the status of your application by sending your Tracking Number by SMS on 8400. If you are Overseas Pakistani, than you can only check the status through the website.
NADRA sources told that a difficult phase in it was to get scanned fingerprints of the applicant, which was very much challenging in whole situation. NADRA has posted a sketch on its website on how to get the finger prints? It is still not clear that how to determine the fingerprints, whether these are of a real person or not. NADRA said they are still working on this issue.
