KARACHI: As per the gazette notification issued by Federal Government of Pakistan on June 4, 2015, the old currency notes circulating within the market will have no more legal value after September 2016.
Government has taken a decision that after the deadline all old currency notes will have no any legal value and will not be useful anymore. These currency notes include the notes of Rs. 10, Rs. 50, Rs. 100 and Rs. 1000. Government has already dumped the old currency notes of Rs. 5 and Rs. 500, which are not in use currently.
Commercial and Microfinance Banks will continue accepting all old currency notes till September 2016. Banks will also exchange the old currency notes with new notes. On other hand, State Bank of Pakistan will continue exchanging the old currency notes till December 2021. A due date of exchanging old currency notes with new currency notes has been fixed as November 30, 2016. All old currency notes will be ceased by December 1, 2016. Whereas, people can still exchange their currency notes at State Bank of Pakistan’s Field Offices till December 2021.

ڪراچي: وفاقي حڪومت جي پاران چار جُون 2015 تي جاري ڪيل گزٽ نوٽيفڪيشن جي مطابق پھرين ڊسمبر 2016 کان پراڻن بينڪ نوٽن جي قانوني حيثيت ختم ٿي ويندي ان جي لاءِ اھو فيصلو ڪيو ويو آھي ته باقي سڀئي رھجي ويندڙ ڏھَ، پنجاھ، سؤ، ھزار رپين جي پراڻي ڊزائن جي بينڪ نوٽن کي سلسلي وار ختم ڪيو ويندو. پنج رپين جا نوٽ ۽ پراڻي ڊزائن جا پنج سؤ جي نوٽن جي قانوني حيثيت پھريون ئي ختم ٿي چڪي آھي. ڪمرشل ۽ مائيڪرو فنانس بينڪ ٽيھ نومبر 2016 تائين ڏھ، پنجاھ ،سؤ ۽ ھزار رپين جي پراڻي ڊزائن جي بينڪ نوٽن کي قبول ۽ تمام ماليتن جيتري ئي ماليت جي نئين ڊزائن جي بينڪ نوٽن جو تبادلو جاري رکندا. جڏھن ته ايس بي پي بي ايس سي جا فيلڊ دفتر ايڪٽيھ ڊسمبر 2021 تائين عوام کان ڏھ ، پنجاھ، سؤ ۽ ھزار رپين جا پراڻي ڊزائن جا نوٽ قبول ڪندي رھندي . بينڪن ۾ پراڻي ڊزائن جي مٽاسٽا جو آخري ڏينھن ٽيھ نومبر 2016 آھي. پراڻي ڊزائن جي سڀني نوٽن جي حيثيت پھرين ڊسمبر 2016 ۾ ختم ٿي ويندي. جڏھن ته اھڙن تمام بينڪ نوٽن جي، ايس بي پي بي ايس سي جي فيلڊ دفتر جو آخري ڏينھن ايڪٽيھ ڊسمبر 2021 ھوندو.
